Yixuan (Gina) is a Chinese artist/designer who had spent 8 years living in Sydney and and studying in art and design. She is specialised in contemporary jewellery design and textile design. Her creative works have exhibited in a range of galleries in Australia.

In her opinion, since many cities become more and more internationalised,  globalisation triggers some cultural anxiety and people start to fear losing their traditional cultures. So, a reviving of traditional cultures will be one of the future directions, and it may offer a 21st-century Chinoiserie aesthetic. What she wants to achieve is that to introduce the Chinoiserie aesthetic through her works to the world. Also, as an artist and a designer, she would like to comment on global issues with her creation in order to actually make a little change to people’s daily life.
